minor or mild AEFI are reactions that occur within 6–12 hours of vaccination, usually mild, posing little danger, resolving spontaneously within 1-3 days, without requiring further medical attention (e.g. local reactions and systemic reactions); severe reactions (AEFI) can be disabling but are rarely life threatening, most do not lead to long-term problems and include serious adverse reactions (e.g. anaphylaxis, Guillain–Barré syndrome)
